Canal tomb O

Tomb O consisted of two burial chambers above each other. The lower one could be reached by a small door (1.40 mtr in height) in the left side wall of tomb N. The vault of the lower chamber was also the floor of the upper one.
Originally the lower chamber had one arcosolium in each wall, excepting the entrance wall. These were white coloured, surrounded by red bands and decorated with flowers and leaves. Later, when more burial space was needed, three graves, separated by tuff and brick walls, were made under the floor in the middle of the room.

The upper burial chamber of tomb O can be reached from tomb M by a brick staircase of five steps. On the right side the steps are flanked by a large niche, 1.90 meters in height.
Above the stairs, at a height of two meters, was a door with travertine jambs and architrave.
Three walls have an arcosolium, with three niches above each arcosolium. The central niche is semicircular, the others square and framed by small, white stuccoed columns. Some traces of these columns can still be seen.
In the entrance wall are four square niches, for two urns each.
