Tomb 84

Tomb 84 is a tomb "a cassone" facing the Via Severiana. The small tomb measures 2 x 0,62 mtr. Tomb 84 has a kind of facade with a marble slab of 26 x 42 cm on which the following inscription is written:
D(is) M(anibus)
C(aius) IVLIVS PHILIPPVS
IASONI LIB(erto)
B(ene) M(erenti) F(ecit)
The tomb has been built by Caius Iulius Philippus for Iason, his freedman who has served him well. Iason is presumably the same man who built tomb 74 for his son.
